Steve Gray, Founding Partner
Steve Gray started his career in the media as a paperboy for the morning Syracuse Post-Standard newspaper. At an early age, Steve made a habit of reading the paper and watching the news. This inspired him to become a reporter. And this later led to the founding of Rockford Gray to focus on media coaching, presentation skills training, crisis communications and media counsel.
Prior to founding Rockford Gray, Steve was CEO of BVP Media, Inc., a full-service marketing and communications firm. Before BVP, Steve was an award-winning news reporter for television stations in Detroit, Denver, St. Louis, Colorado Springs and Washington, N.C. In the course of his reporting career he has received numerous honors including an Emmy for news reporting while at KCNC-TV, Denver. Steve was also one of the lead reporters for the WDIV TV, Detroit newscast that won UPI’s “Newscast of the Year” Award.
Steve is a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University with a Degree in Journalism and Political Science. Steve also attended the University of Colorado, but he doesn’t talk much about his days in Boulder.
