You might not remember the clattering sound of the Teletype machine delivering breaking news alerts in the newsroom, but Karen Mason does. As a college intern she ripped Associated Press wire stories from the teletype printer for her station’s broadcast. By getting her hands on the news of the day and monitoring the network news broadcasts, Karen refined her news judgement. She developed a keen eye for the elements that make a compelling news story and shares that knowledge with Rockford Gray clients.

Karen is passionate about news. After “paying her dues” as a television news producer in Denver, Phoenix, and Colorado Springs, as well as a producer and anchor for The Vacation Channel in Breckenridge Colorado, Karen readily shares her knowledge of the inner workings of the newsroom with clients seeking public relations support.

For national clients spanning a variety of industries, Karen reaches out to the news media every day. She leverages her extensive press contacts by developing content and stories across multiple platforms, enthusiastically putting her English degree from The Colorado College to work.

Hailing from Minneapolis Minnesota, Karen is based in Summit County, Colorado, where she enjoys the trails all year long whether it’s hiking in the summer or cross-country skiing in the winter.
