With more than 30 years’ experience, Alton P. Dillard II, CERA advises Rockford Gray clients on effective and creative ways to build communication strategies to engage with the media and communities.

A respected communication relations expert based in Denver, Alton served as a Press Secretary and Senior Aide to U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell and as Denver’s Communications Manager and Public Information Officer for the Clerk and Recorder Office.

As a semi-retired spokesperson and media personality Alton shares his real-world experience with our clients. Under his communications consultancy, The Dillard Group, LLC, Alton has served clients such as Uber, One Chance to Grow Up, The Elections Group, Hancock Global, Centro Inc. and Ranked Choice Voting Colorado.

Alton has guest lectured on elections and government policy communications at the University of Colorado, Denver and the University of Redlands. Coloradoans can catch Alton on PBS 12’s Colorado Inside Out, 9News and 7 News, providing political and election night analysis.

Alton earned his Certified Elections and Registration Administrator (CERA), the highest professional certification in elections administration from the Election Center at Auburn University in 2022. He has also received the:

Alton serves the community as a 20-plus-year volunteer basketball coach, President of the Lincoln Hills Cares Foundation, a board member for Lincoln Hills Cares, the University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association, and the Executive Council for AARP Colorado, and as a trustee for the Friends of the Denver Public Library Foundation.
